If you’re ready to dive deeper into the world of pottery and want to learn a range of skills, then the Pottery Low-down is the course for you. Over five weeks, in two-hour weekly sessions, I’ll take you through the ins and outs of handbuilding, from the basics to more advanced techniques. Whether you’re completely new to pottery or want to refine your skills, this course, with a maximum of 6 people per group, will leave you with a deeper understanding of the craft and some beautiful pieces to take home.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the course:
- Week 1: Studio safety and an introduction to pinch pots
- Week 2: Experimenting with slab building
- Week 3: Coiling and sculpting techniques
- Week 4: Fun decorating techniques – think sgraffito, slip trailing, and underglaze painting
- Week 5: Over-glazing and finishing touches
By the end of the course, you’ll have created some stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces, and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a pottery pro! Your creations will be glazed and ready for pickup in 4-6 weeks (or can be shipped to you for an additional fee).
Generally, sessions will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, please reach out if you’d like this tailored to you.
