The Petrichor Serving Spoon
There’s something grounding about serving a homemade meal with pieces shaped by hand — slow, thoughtful work that echoes in every curve. The Petrichor Serving Spoon is just that: a functional work of art, crafted from rich red clay and glazed in soft mossy greens and rain-washed blues, with gentle drips that recall the first shower on warm earth. The organic shape feels at home on any table, whether scooping grains from a handmade bowl or serving roasted vegetables at a cosy family feast.

Handcrafted & One of a Kind
Each spoon begins as a smooth slab of clay. I shape, press, and gently form the organic curves by hand, refining the edges and sculpting the bowl to balance perfectly in the hand. After drying slowly, it’s glazed in four careful layers, creating subtle variations that make each piece completely unique.
A Slow & Intentional Process
Each piece goes through a thoughtful process of creation:
Day 1: Rolling, cutting, and hand-shaping the slab into form.
Day 2: Slow drying, refining curves and edges.
Day 3: Hand-glazing with over four layers of my Petrichor glaze.
Day 4–6: A single firing that takes three days, reaching over 1200°C to vitrify the clay and ensure lasting strength.
Day 7: Final sanding and a warm soapy bath, ready for your home.
