Pottery Workshop: Fire Up Friday - Locals Edition (1pm, Fridays)
What better way to kick off your weekend than with a cosy, creative afternoon at Whistle & Page? Fire Up Friday is all about having fun, getting your hands into some clay, and meeting other lovely folks who are just as excited about pottery as you are. It’s a casual, laid-back session, running for two hours, where you can make up to two small or medium pieces. I’ll be here guiding you along the way, but no experience is necessary – just come with an open mind and a smile!
We’ll have tea and coffee on hand, so you can sip and chat while you create. The studio’s always buzzing with good energy, and it’s the perfect opportunity to meet the locals, unwind, and experience what it's like to work in a real pottery studio. Come for the clay, stay for the conversation. Trust me, you’ll leave feeling refreshed and ready to take on the weekend!

Why Pottery? Why Whistle & Page?
I’m so passionate about pottery because it’s more than just creating something beautiful – it’s a way to take a break from the chaos of daily life and focus on something grounding. Working with clay is incredibly therapeutic, tapping into all the creative parts of your brain while engaging the nerve endings in your hands. There’s something about the tactile experience of pottery that can help clear your mind, reduce stress, and bring a sense of calm. Plus, it’s addictive – once you start, you’ll want to keep coming back for more!
Whistle & Page is a place to slow down, indulge in a little creative escape, and experience the peaceful charm of country life. Just 25 minutes from Canberra, in the heart of the cool-climate wine country of Murrumbateman, it’s the perfect spot to treat yourself to something new. Whether you’re a visitor to the area or a local looking to get away from it all, my studio offers a warm, welcoming environment to nurture your creativity.
Let’s Get Started!
I’d love to help you discover the joy of pottery and the relaxation that comes with it. All of these workshops are designed with you in mind—to give you a chance to unwind, meet others, and leave with something beautiful that you’ve made yourself. They are about the experience, the fun, and the satisfaction of creating something by hand.
A Few Practical Details
All necessary materials and equipment will be provided for you during each session.
Any item that needs to be finished off by me will be glazed in a beautiful white overglaze and fired for you, ready for collection.
There will be an additional charge for shipping if you’d like your pottery items mailed.
Uncollected pieces must be collected or shipped within 6 weeks of the collection notification. After that, due to space limitations, I will unfortunately have to destroy uncollected pieces.
So, whether you’re coming from Canberra for a quick weekend escape, or you’re already exploring the local wineries, I’d love to welcome you to Whistle & Page. Indulge in some creative “me-time,” create something beautiful, and take home a piece of this tranquil country life with you. I can’t wait to share the magic of pottery with you – see you soon!
